Donkey eyes staring at me

The donkey knows everything. He stands in his field every day contemplating life.

This is the same donkey I posted before in Baile na nGall, Co. Kerry. We passed that way last September and I didn’t see him so if you see a wandering donkey, tell him I said hi!

Holiday Caravan

A holiday caravan near a beach on the Dingle Peninsula.

This caravan has been in the same spot for at least the last 2 years, and probably longer. I wanted to shoot it for quite a while but it wasn’t until I converted this shot to b/w that I was happy with it.

Cu Na Mara

A bright red trawler pictured in Dingle Harbour last September.

The name of the vessel, “Cu Na Mara”, literally means "Hound of the Seas"!

Bigeoino says I made it to the front of “Cork Places”. Does anyone know what that is? Is it a magazine? I’m going to ask in Easons later today.

Maxol fuels the boats

A fuel truck from Maxol fuels a boat docked at Dingle Harbour with diesel.

Meanwhile, a long lorry next to it is loaded with goods from the boat. Busy times.

Blue sky on a dull day

Today is dull, there’s a glimpse of blue out, it’s cold, there’s a chilly wind blowing.

Blue sky and fluffy clouds in Kerry while on holiday. Great memories.

You’re a star

So that’s what happens to reality tv show judges when they retire. They go off to Dingle and work on a trawler!

In the background is an old burned out trawler that has been tied up to the quay in Dingle for at least the last 18 months. I have photos of it from last year too!

Randles Court Starlights

We stayed in The Randles Court Hotel in Killarney, Co. Kerry last February and one night I wandered out to take a few shots.

This was a long exposure shot, with the aperture closed down as much as possible to f/22.

Lovely hotel too!

The Kerry Flag

Kerry were still celebrating their win in the All Ireland when we stayed in Dingle a few weeks back and flags were flying everywhere!

Shadows on Slea Head

Shadows from the broken clouds above play over the landscape on Slea Head in Co. Kerry. Every moment was a different photo until the rain eventually caught up with us!

Through the long grass

Hard wind worn grass grows by the beach at Wine Strand in Co. Kerry. I think this is perfect in black and white.
The blue sky was amazing but the light and shadow of the grass stands out against the uniform background.

I shot my first sports stuff in ages yesterday. A few of us from Mallow Camera Club made it to the Cobh Ramblers game against Dundalk and had free reign to walk around the perimeter of the football pitch.
I was almost hit a few times by the ball, including one time near the goal when I was zooming in on the action, with the camera in burst mode. I spotted the ball heading my way in the frame and stepped to the side a lit second before the ball landed where I was standing. Phew. Got the pic too 🙂
More about the day’s shooting during the week!

Rain blows over Slea Head

Rain descended on us moments after I took this shot as it sped across the bay and over Slea Head from the south!

This was taken above Couminole Beach.
