During the Tour of Ireland last summer parking wasn’t allowed in Blarney. Not everyone takes notice of signs!

Looking west from the top of Shandon Bells in Cork City and all you can see is the urban landscape below. Yesterday’s shot is a crop of a small part of this photo.

Classic cars all parked up at Charles Fort near Kinsale, Co Cork and I had a ball shooting them. This beautiful blue Mustang was the first to go. The iconic name and good looks attracted quite a few onlookers.

Clancy’s Bar and Restaurant in Youghal has apparently been closed for quite some time. I never knew the place but my wife was surprised and disappointed to see the For Sale signs outside. I didn’t even notice the people walking along the road until I looked at the photo on my monitor!

If aliens from outer space attack Youghal in Co Cork we know at least one building they won’t destroy. Odd looking characters featured on this sign for the public toilets near the beach.

Timoleague Abbey, in the town of the same name in Co Cork is an impressive building from the road. I must have driven (or been driven by my parents) past there hundreds of times over the years from childhood on but I don’t think I explored the Abbey ruins until about 3 or 4 years…

De Lorean, the 80’s Belfast car manufacturer became a household name after their car’s appearance in Back to the Future. The name is instantly recognisable to a whole generation of people. A run down house, barely a shell, sits boarded up on Blarney Street, Cork. Paddy’s Day was productive, away from the parade!

On the way up to Sunday’s Well you’ll find this fairly permanent sign moulded from cement in the wall of a house. I’m sure the business that put it up is long gone but it’s fascinating that it’s still there. Des took a photo of it too!

The North Mall next to the River Lee in Cork is decorated with beautiful flowers dotted along it’s length. I had to take a few shots of them as I walked back to my car after the Paddy’s Day Parade this year. Note the Franciscan Well in the background. Nice pub! PS. If you use…
