Misty Morning Bird

Misty Morning Bird

What were you doing at 5:52am this bright Sunday morning? Fast asleep? Our little boy Adam had us up and about bright and early. Bleary eyed parents who read this will I’m sure agree that it’s a shame young kids don’t realise the weekend is for sleeping in.

I would have missed this shot though so I’m thankful he was up this early. The fog is gone now, burned off by the early morning sun, I’ve already been out with both Adam and Oscar and brought home a couple of good photos. I’m a bit tired now, more then 3 hours later at 9.30am as I write this. Adam is asleep and I’m going for a nap shortly. zzzzz.

I can hardly see myself

As I said previously, thick fog was rolling across the Conor Pass. It was frightening how fast it moved and the light and scene changed utterly.

Here’s it’s obscuring the road down the Pass, making the too-narrow road even more treacherous. I think by the time we left, even this stretch of road and the car park was covered in a thick white fog.

Don’t forget! If you’re around Cork on March 9th, head to the Lough for 3pm. I’m planning a photowalk around The Lough and all are welcome!

Fog rolls over the hill

I count my blessings that we had sunlight this day at the Conor Pass. If we had arrived 10 minutes later all I would have seen was a white wall of fog.

Rain blows over Slea Head

Rain descended on us moments after I took this shot as it sped across the bay and over Slea Head from the south!

This was taken above Couminole Beach.

Orange stripes and white clouds

The orange stripes of the road lead off into the Conor Pass, north of Dingle in Co. Kerry. This was taken in September last year and they did a great job of improving the road.

The cloud you see is fog that literally rolled in off the hills. One moment there was a beautiful view down into the Pass and the next we were surrounded by a white wall of wet.

Golden Gate Bridge in Fog

Tourists on a ferry pass by the fog shrouded Golden Gate Bridge
in San Francisco Bay.

The day was beautiful out near Alcatraz but fog covered the upper reaches of the bridge and I thought would make a pleasing shot.

PS. I’m not finished with photos from 2006 by a long shot!

Cappuccino Morning

A beautiful misty morning greeted us a few days ago. The mist rolled down the valley outside and when the sun rose it produced these amazing shades of brown through the fog.

Thanks Jacinta for the name, it fits!

I added a tag cloud to the site this morning. It’s quite obvious from it where I live, and what I take pictures of!
