Flower Burst
Some times you just have to post a cliche like a pretty flower, especially in the dead of winter. I’m giving away a free print to two visitors to my blog. Leave a comment on my Carol Singers post to be in with a chance to win!
Windswept Daisies
Daisies cling to the sparse earth at the water’s edge in Fountainstown, Co Cork. This was taken just a few metres from my previous Fountainstown picture and was mocking me for over 2 years, sitting in my “Work in Progress” folder, defying my attempts to capture the feeling of that cold October day in 2006.
Red and White Flowers
Colourful red and white flowers in the doorway of Supervalu in Blarney. I half thought about posting Damien’s picture from yesterday’s get together, especially after what lexia said but that’d be too cruel!
Field of flowers
Floods, hailstones, cold. Another typical Irish summer but thankfully it’s nice ad bright here in Blarney. Here’s a shot I took down at Allihies in West Cork back in April. It’d be perfect if the flowers were more in focus but I still love it.
Directions to Ballygarvan
Ballygarvan is 1 mile that way. Shot up by Cork Airport while trying to get a decent shot of a plane landing or taking off. I eventually moved to the other end of the air field where I got the shots I posted last week!
Pretty Yellow Flowers
Pretty yellow flowers bloom in late April in the grounds of the Westlodge Hotel we stayed in while on holiday in Bantry. Spring was late coming to these gardens so it was nice to see a splash of colour!
Crimson Red Flowers
Glowing red flowers captured my attention at Fitzgerald’s Park a year ago, but I was never happy with my work on this photo until recently. Now I love it. Hope you like it too!
A lonely flower’s water drops
We had a glorious bank holiday weekend just past and I took full advantage of it by taking the camera with me everywhere while outside, even when I was walking the dog and my son Adam in the morning. I snapped this flower while Oscar sniffed around and Adam looked on. We were all happy!…
Daisies in the grass
This is really looking back into the archives. I shot this in 2004, probably with the Sony 717 and at a guess probably in the park near the Gun Powder Mills in Ballincollig. Long time ago. Lovely day!
How to send flowers to ladies
How to send flowers to ladies Obviously the gentlemen of Bantry are a polite and courteous bunch. While their women folk are in the public loo an enterprising soul will sell them flowers for their better half!
Tall Grass
Tall Grass Grass growing in the Arizona desert.
The Lough Daffodils
The Lough Daffodils We walked around The Lough and wandered over to the daffodils growing by the footpath at one of the lake. That’s Sean Murphy in the background as he preps some of his equipment to take a shot. Probably my last photo from the Lough Photowalk!
