The Big Wheel or Ferris wheel, is back in the Grand Parade in Cork, but these photos are from December 2017! You’d hardly know, except for the posters on the buildings behind. This was before Ukraine was attacked by Russia and there is now a flag of Ukraine with the text, “We’re with you Ukraine”…

You’re not waiting for a bus and suddenly four busses come along! We had fun with some long exposure photography on. Thursday night.

The big wheel on Grand Parade in Cork spins and makes a lovely shape when captured by a long exposure shot. Also missing from this are a few friends who thankfully kept walking back and forth so they wouldn’t be captured in the image!

Just as the sun set on a beautiful December evening, I photographed St. Fin Barre’s Cathedral in the distance, with the big wheel on the Grand Parade in the foreground. I love that people on the big wheel were waving! December 10th, 2016.

The ferris wheel, or big wheel, or Panoramic Wheel as it’s known to it’s owners, on Grand Parade. We had some fun photographing it from the car park across the street. Henry has a photo of the wheel on his Instagram account too.

Santa Monica Pier stretches out into the sea, but halfway out is a funfair including a roller coaster and ferris wheel, of all things. On a sunny day it’s a sight to behold. The place is thronged with people too!

I was out and about with friends from Blarney Photography Club on Thursday night, and we got some great shots of the big wheel on Grand Parade. This year the big wheel is joined by a statue of the Big Fellah, Michael Collins. Check out Henry’s photo here.
