I was watching the sun set in Tenerife when a family approached and walked by. They were silhouetted by the sun, but instead of the usual black shadows, I wanted to try something different. No doubt the purists will be scoffing at the bright vignettes. Well, thanks. 🙂
We were in Youghal recently on a cold and blustery afternoon, and so were lots of others with their dogs. Not in this photos is Diego, but he was keeping a close eye on the other dogs!
A lady bringing her two dogs for a walk had to deal with one being more enthusiastic than the other. I don’t remember if I had Diego with me this day when I photographed them, but that lead dog certainly didn’t want to dilly-dally. He had places to go! Important things to do! 🙂
A man walks his two chihuahuas through the centre of Valencia. The two dogs had flashing lights on them, attracting lots of attention from people walking past.
I thought it was risky having two chihuahuas off the lead in a busy city centre, but the two dogs were calm and enjoying the walk.
When I walked past this little dog and snapped a photo of him with my phone, I didn’t realise I was photographing a celebrity dog.
Thanks to Google Images, I found out the dog is Ali the Rasta Dog on Instagram. I’m not a fan of dressing dogs up in clothes, unless it’s cold out, but it’s obvious Donald, his owner, loves Ali and takes great care of him.
His new little furry friend has made all the difference, he says. He calls him Ali the “Rasta pup.” Donald says his newfound faith in God has also helped relieve his anger and he says he now has a reason to live, and a friend to share that life with.
One of the wonderful things about other places is when dogs are allowed in. I had just left the American Book Center in Amsterdam when a man and a dog walked towards me and into the shop!
There’s no chance a dog like that, or any dog, would be allowed in a bookshop where I live! I sometimes get away with bringing Diego in when I carry him in my arms. 🙂
With a walking stick under his arm, a man pays a young woman for a St. Bridget’s Cross on February 1st, 2023. As he completes the transaction, his loyal dog sits patiently on the ground, gazing away in anticipation of walks to come. Two women pass by and catch sight of the striking canine, drawn to the dog’s friendly aura and bold bandana.
I spotted a woman walking past with her two dogs. Moments before, the chihuahua was barking his head off, but he quietened down when he saw me. An obvious poser, and he just loves the camera!
Diego in his blanket after waking up from a sleep. This is an old photo of him from 2017, but I’m posting it today because he’s at the vet’s office after getting an x-ray.
He hasn’t been himself for some time and let out loud yelps from time to time but he was diagnosed with Intervertebral disc disease (IVDD) by the vet this afternoon.
It’s the very early stages of the disease and with lots of care we can treat him. No jumping off sofas, beds, or chairs. No walks even. We have to wrap him in cotton wool for the next six weeks.
A Jack Russell lying in the shade at the recent Dawstown Point-to-Point horse racing. It was warm, and the sun was bright, so he made a beeline for the shade afforded by his human dad standing nearby.
