The colourful and eclectic architecture adds vibrancy and character to the scene, inviting the observer to explore the nooks and crannies of the city. Close by, the warehouses that were demolished to make way for modern buildings still stand in this 2005 photo, a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made for progress.
