If you walk on from the chapel in Gougane Barra you’ll come across the Gougane Barra National Park, which was the first national park in Ireland when it opened in 1966. Christian Radich in Cork Harbour

The Christian Radich is a beautiful sailing ship that’s in Cork Harbour this weekend. I took advantage of a foggy morning to get some photos of it and the surrounding docklands. Christian Radich is a Norwegian full-rigged ship, named after a Norwegian shipowner. The vessel was built at Framnæs shipyard in Sandefjord, Norway, and was delivered on 17 June 1937. The owner was The Christian Radich Sail Training Foundation established by a grant from an officer of that name.
