The Village Laundry
The Village Laundry in Glengarriff, Co Cork, pictured almost a year ago. Love that deep purple on the walls!
Knott’s Badges
Will Knott has a fine collection of badges on his bag. Shot at the pre-iba09 photowalk a few weeks ago.
Lonely Boat in Fountainstown
A boat sits alone on the hard ground while it’s brethren bob up and down in the tide around Fountainstown in Co Cork. This presented me with a bit of a dilemma. I originally cropped the sky out because it was washed out but after careful work with the RAW image I restored detail to…
Jacob’s Bar
Jacob’s Bar in Baltimore, Co Cork. We never drank there but it looked busy and inviting. Evening was too cold to stay outside though.
Baltimore Harbour
A small boat sits in Baltimore Harbour in Co Cork. Taken last September from the pier where the ferry for Cape Clear lands. If you’re in Cork tomorrow, there’s a pre-Blog Awards photowalk at noon. Everyone’s meeting at The Old Oak on Oliver Plunkett Street. See you there and at the Blog Awards tomorrow night!
Eccles Hotel
Eccles Hotel on the outskirts of Glengarriff in Co Cork is an imposing hotel from the outside. I never went in so I don’t know what it’s like inside. My wife Jacinta checked out the menu while I stayed in the car with the baby and got the camera out of course! It’s a beautiful…
Church Steps in Castletownbere
Steps to a church in Castletownbere, Co Cork. I tried finding out more about this church but any attempt to find info on it returns this church I blogged a while back. Anyone know it’s name?
Inside An Siopa Beag
Step into An Siopa Beag on Oilean Chleire and you’ll see a small restaurant as well as confectionery and a till at the entrance. There are tables outside too of course, I posted a photo of them a while back. It’s one of the first businesses visitors to Cape Clear see, good location!
The difference is we’re Irish
Dunnes Stores, Blackpool in Cork City. Recent Dunnes Stores adverts finish with the byline, “The difference is we’re Irish”. It stinks of desperation as everyone north of Dublin heads up to Northern Ireland to shop!
