  • A chauffeur stands nervously in front of his Rolls Royce car in London, waiting and biting his nails.
  • At the height of the Covid19 Pandemic in July 2020, someone takes a break out in the open of a narrow street wearing a mask while he looks at his phone.

The Chauffeur and the Rolls

I was waiting for someone to come out of a shop, so I did some street photography while I was in London. I found a chauffeur standing in front of his Rolls Royce car, waiting, too. I wonder who owns the car?

A Masked Break

At the height (one of them, anyway) of the COVID19 pandemic in July 2020, someone takes a break on the street. He still wears his mask, despite being outside and nowhere near anyone. Numbers of COVID19 infections are rising again, unfortunately. Schools are back after the summer. It's so depressing.

In a shop window

Two members of staff set up a window display in a shop in Cork.

A Path Through The Dunes

Grass is blown, and clouds are whisked through the air by winds that blow on to the beach at Long Strand, Co Cork.

The Adventures of an Ice cream fridge

A fridge is removed from a corner shop on St. Patrick's Street, Cork. The shop itself is now empty, but I'm sure it won't be long until a phone shop or vape shop opens there.

Revolving chess board

The squares of a chessboard become a blur as the camera is flung sideways as the shutter opens. It's the chessboard in Crosshaven, not that you'd recognise it from the photo!

Laurel & Hardy Visit Cobh

Laurel & Hardy visited Cobh in Co. Cork today, exactly 70 years after they last visited in 1953! The two gentlemen are looking exceedingly well for their age, I'm sure you'll agree. They put on a fine show, doing several sketches and singing a few favourites and doing a dance. Lucky Dog Theatre Productions were...

Cork City Skyline

Instantly recognisable to anyone in Cork. Shandon Bells rises above the rooftops.

Lines on the wall

A drain pipe comes down the wall, taking corners in strict lines, while the thin branches of a bush cling to the smooth surface. The branches look like they want to smother or envelop the wall, but the branches are bare. The wall is smooth. All dead.

Lodge 234

I was surprised to see the Masonic Square and Compass logo on a weathered door in Kinsale a few weeks ago. Luckily there's no public park next door where they can buy a plot of land to extend the building for €1 like they did in Cork City. CORK city councillors have voted to dispose...

Chatting to the bus driver

I was walking along the street and noticed this man, standing by the door of a bus. I think it was stopped at traffic lights. Did you notice he's being watched by another bus driver?

Wind Blown Clouds

Looking up from the rocks in Ballycotton I spotted this house and magnificent clouds overhead. The wind was blowing hard up there high in the sky and the clouds moved visibly as I watched. It didn't take me long to realise I needed to photograph it!
