Checking for the Chicago Tribune

A passer-by checks the front page of the Chicago Tribune in a neighbourhood kiosk, July 2003. I can't imagine those kiosks are still there, considering the financial troubles newspapers have gone through in the last 19 years since this photo was taken.

The waves of Owenahincha

Waves crash off shore at Owenahincha Beach.

Where the bikes go

Walking across a bridge in Chicago I noticed all the bikes that were thrown up on the railing next to the river. As good a place as any if there's no decent bike parking to be had nearby.

The Ceiling of the Pantheon

Look straight up from the centre of the Pantheon to see the magnificent ceiling above you.

The fish points south

The top of Shandon Bells, the tower of St. Anne's Church in Cork City as seen from Bell's Field. I'd like to visit that tower again and photograph Bell's Field from there. :) From a recent outing with Blarney Photography Club.

The Train Station and Horgan’s Quay

Just a few photos from around Horgan's Quay and the train station in Cork. October 2020.

Like Sentinels Looking Over Us

I love the shape of the public street lighting on Parnell Place.

Selling sunglasses

Selling sunglasses and accessories isn't great business, even in Tenerife.

Shopping in Birmingham

Shopping in the Bull Ring in Birmingham.

The next race

One of the many people attending the racing at Dawstown Point to Point, May 2018.

Lunch on the Street

When you're hungry and need to have a sandwich. Edinburgh, June 2018.

Can I have a doggy bag?

Crossing the road at the junction of Washington Street and Grand Parade. See the construction site of The Capitol behind? Picture taken in September 2016.
