From North Side to County

A sight well known to anyone who lives in Cork City. The Spire of St. Anne’s Church, or Shandon Bells stands like a beacon. The Cathedral of St Mary and St Anne is just off shot to the right, out of this shot.

The County Hall can be seen far off in the distance out on the Carrigrohane Road. That building was once the tallest building in Ireland.

Look back further and you’ll see fields on the hills surrounding the city.

Susan Ann Sulley of The Human League

Way back in 2012, The Human League played in Cork. Here’s a photo of singer, Susan Ann Sulley that night. Phil Oakey is to her right but I decided she should have the attention in this photo!

Silhouettes of the Walkers

Walkers in Killarney National Park a week ago when I was there trying to photograph the stags. A huge group of people out on a Saturday morning when a storm passed overhead and thunder and lightning filled the air.

A few of us from Blarney Photography Club braved the elements for our photography!

Checking for the Chicago Tribune

A passer-by checks the front page of the Chicago Tribune in a neighbourhood kiosk, July 2003.

I can’t imagine those kiosks are still there, considering the financial troubles newspapers have gone through in the last 19 years since this photo was taken.

The fish points south

The top of Shandon Bells, the tower of St. Anne’s Church in Cork City as seen from Bell’s Field. I’d like to visit that tower again and photograph Bell’s Field from there. 🙂

From a recent outing with Blarney Photography Club.
