Inch Beach at Night

Inch Beach on Friday night. The light was beautiful but needed a little help in development. Using some of the tips in this video I transformed this image into what you see above.

Water swirls at Myrtleville

A long exposure photo I took on Thursday night at Myrtleville with Blarney Photography Club. Unfortunately rain closed in after only half an hour or so and we were forced to leave early. Should have brought the umbrella out!

Rock Castles at Sunset

Carefully balanced piles of rocks line the rocky stretch of coastline by Av. Maritima around here in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote.

Thanks Iga for nominating me to post an artistic photo a day for 5 days. I already had posts scheduled but I’ll post an extra one each day anyway! 🙂

A Rocky Owenahincha Beach?

I have very fond memories of Owenahincha Beach going back more than 20 years ago when my family stayed there on holiday. I remember a lovely sandy beach, and one morning when fog settled in so close than I could only see a few metres.

On a sunny day it must be beautiful, and it has a well deserved blue flag for its clean water but I was dismayed to see so many rocks on the beach. We met some lovely people there out with their dogs but at least one stray was wandering about and defecated just as we were leaving! 🙁

An Irish Examiner article from 2013 also notes the fall from grace this beach has experienced. It’s very sad, and disappointing.
