The Golden Shades of Autumn
Shades of gold and brown were everywhere in November. This shot in Fitzgerald Park, Cork captured the wonderful display while kids and parents congregated around the playground.

Old Wood and Yellow
The gorgeous Autumn colours contrast with the dark and rough texture of the old wood of a fence.
Shot in Quebec of course.

Golden Leaves
Continuing on the Burnham Beeches theme, here’s another typical autumn shot. A great many more trees had their leaves than here in Blarney where most trees are naked.
While in town this evening I discovered to my dismay that my Canon 10-22 lens is broken. The manual focus ring is completely jammed and the zoom ring can be moved with effort. I noticed the lens is slightly bend at the focus ring where it looks like some of the ring is more visible. All the more reason to ring Canon in the UK. The Canon 20D and now this lens have to be fixed.
PS. check out this comment from Dumb. Cracked me up, and gave several people on Twitter a chuckle too. Thank Dumb!

Autumn Leaves
Hues of gold and brown greet the eye in Burham Beeches. Yes I know it’s technically winter but autumn is always associated with falling leaves, while winter is cold and snow falls instead, so please humour me!
I do have a couple of other shots of yesterday’s Burnham Beeches photo but I’ll leave those until later in the year.

The beauty of Burnham Beeches
We visited Burnham Beeches last Friday afternoon, on a day when torrential rain was forecast but thankfully the weather forecast was completely wrong. This large forest close to the city of London is an amazing sight to behold with ancient trees, and at this time of year beautiful, vivid (eh Matt?) and colourful leaves that create a breathtaking canopy.
When I saw the scene you see above my jaw dropped in astonishment and I had to take a few photos of it. This is definitely a photo I’ll be printing and hanging on my wall. I hope you like it too!
Wikipedia says that:
Burnham Beeches is an area of 540 acres (220 hectares) of ancient woodland, located close to Farnham Common, Burnham and Beaconsfield, in Buckinghamshire. It is approximately 20 miles (30 km) to the west of London, England.

Windsor Leaves
Down by the river in Windsor the ground was littered with autumn leaves and served as a perfect foreground for someone else’s castle..
That was a great idea of Matt’s to head down that direction!

Stuck on you
A wet bench in Maidenhead is no place for you or I but an Autumn leaf has made it home.

Rusty old fence at the Conor Pass
A rusty old fence is all that protects you from a nasty fall down a fairly steep hill down to the valley floor at the Conor Pass.

Spectators on the beach
The hang gliding crowd attracted a bit of a crowd on Inch Beach in 2006. Well, it was late September and there wasn’t that many people on the beach in the first place, so 2 people isn’t so bad, eh?
Hunger got the best of us and we watched as a powered plane flew high up in the air. I don’t think any of the gliders made it up that day because the winds weren’t right.
