She’s got the flowers, while he has the shopping, walking home from town. Amsterdam. Live your life, love your life. It flies by so quickly, and can end so quickly, unexpectedly.

I captured a near miss when I made this long exposure shot of a canal in Amsterdam. Two boats were heading towards each, and it was only by gunning the engines of the one that went under the bridge on the right that they missed each other. People on board must have watched nervously, but…

The Damrak in Amsterdam is a street in front of the main railway station of the city, where you can see the beautiful reflection pictured here. If you’re lucky, the water will be as still as it was the night I photographed it. The reflections of the houses there are eye catching!

Sometimes when out with your dog, they’re second in line for your attention after your phone.

As they say, “When you’re bored of ducks, you’re bored of life.” I hope he had an exciting evening when he finished work!

A protest against the war in Gaza in Dam Square, Amsterdam. This was last month and late in the evening. It’s great to see it.

A train passing by on a street in Amsterdam caught my eye. It’s painted in the rainbow colours of the Pride Flag, with EVERYONE IS WELCOME HERE #YouAreIncluded printed on it! #YouAreIncluded was the theme of the 2023 Pride Amsterdam, and it was nice to see the colours still there.

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Is it… is it… a building? It was odd to see a man with binoculars on a street in Amsterdam looking up at the building opposite.
