A mirror of a mural
What caught my eye when I saw this in front of me in Bishop Lucey Park, was the man leaning against the railing seemed to mirror the pose of the figure in the large mural on the wall. The park itself is closed off now. This is a picture of a bygone era. Can’t wait…
That’s a steep hill
The Old Youghal Road takes a steep dive right next to Bell’s Field, but there’s a lovely view. No wonder he stopped for a moment to admire the view on a sunny evening a few years ago.
The late Frank Flaherty
Frank Flaherty, the Cork Birdman, who passed away earlier this month, pictured sitting on the wall of The Outdoor Adventure Store in 2021. His dog sits underneath, waiting patiently.
Pigeons take flight
I heard him say, “sorry”, when his dog barked and scared all the pigeons, but he did me a favour. The pigeons in Bishop Lucey Park weren’t doing much!
Of Tae and Talk
There’s something to be said for enjoying life while you can and enjoying a cup of tea. On a nice June day in 2021, late in the afternoon, this man was relaxing in the shade of his truck. No more sales for today.
Eircom have notions
The double phone box on Proby’s Quay is looking the worse for wear these days. This is what it looked like on a bright July day in 2021. It hasn’t improved since. Notions.
The Adventures of an Ice cream fridge
A fridge is removed from a corner shop on St. Patrick’s Street, Cork. The shop itself is now empty, but I’m sure it won’t be long until a phone shop or vape shop opens there.
Global Warning
I’m not quite sure what to say about this man and his “Global War n ing” sign. I’ve talked to him a few times as he’s stood at the same spot most Saturdays for the last few years. All I know, is he’s a crack pot conspiracy theorist.
Cork City Dancing Leprechaun
Two leprechauns dance on St. Patrick’s Street, Cork. Tourists and children must love them, I guess.
Mushroom hiding in the leaves
A mushroom hiding in the undergrowth somewhere in the Galtee Mountains a year ago.
Emi The Goose
Emi the goose saying hi at Carbery Cottage B&B. We were feeding the ponies and I think he wanted some of the food!
The Lady And Her Dog
This large wall in Bishop Lucey Park has featured a huge mural on it for several years now. This is the wall as it was in June 2021, but the mural has been changed since then.
