Blue and Purple Wildflowers
In the middle of El Caminito del Rey, north of Malaga in Spain, I found these beautiful flowers growing in the rocky soil.
A man and a blank mural
In contrast to the photo yesterday of the same bench in 2015 when a mural appeared on the wall, this photo from July 2019 features a blank wall. An elderly man, with his walker sits on the same bench. I hope he made it through the COVID pandemic.
In a shop window
Two members of staff set up a window display in a shop in Cork.
Hussey’s Folly overlooking Dingle Harbour
Hussey’s Folly, a small two-storey castle overlooks Dingle Harbour. I couldn’t find much about it online, but I did see that it was built in 1845. It’s now in ruins, with the doorways blocked, but it’s a nice place to visit. Before Fungie disappeared, we went up here to look out for him a few…
A break from the guitar
A man takes a break from playing the guitar on Winthrop Street, Cork. It was July 2019, so probably warm and maybe humid, so his bare feet won’t have been cold.
Chatting to the bus driver
I was walking along the street and noticed this man, standing by the door of a bus. I think it was stopped at traffic lights. Did you notice he’s being watched by another bus driver?
Construction Cranes on Horgan’s Quay
Back in 2019, and Horgan’s Quay was in the middle of development. Cranes were overhead, and the whole place was a building site.

Glandore harbour in the summer of 2019. Mist rolled off the sea on this day but had mostly faded away by the time I got there. However, you can see it in the distance, clinging to the land in the distance.
The Eye Sees All
This graffiti caught my eye when I walked past. It was on the corner of Barrack Street and Fort Street in Cork. The eye sees you and the man screams at you. It’s long gone now, this photo was made in 2019!
The Valentia River Viaduct
The now unused viaduct over the Valentia River in Co Kerry caught my eye away back in 2019.
Evening Walk on Achill Island
A few years back, during our holiday on Achill Island, we decided to take a stroll on a beautiful evening. The warm air and clear sky set the perfect ambiance. As we walked, I noticed a sign that cautioned drivers about children playing in the area, while the Moon shone brilliantly in the evening sky.
Vineyard Vistas in Portugal
Amidst the stunning scenery of Portugal’s Douro Valley, we found ourselves at Quinta da Roêda, a picturesque vineyard nestled under a breathtaking blue sky. As far as the eye could see, the vines stretched out into the distance, beckoning us to explore further. A solitary tree stood tall nearby, while on the horizon, two tall,…
