Skateboards in Emmett Place

I posted a number of these photos before but not all, and I’ve given them a “lick of paint” in Lightroom so they’re developed differently now anyway. I’ll update this gallery if I work on any of the other photos from that day.

Lean on the Wall

Just outside the English Market, Grand Parade, Cork.
Street photography is hard. It’s difficult to shoot candid photos of people on the street and get a picture in focus that is pin sharp.
To aid me in that task I used the auto ISO setting on my camera, with a minimum shutter speed of an excessively fast 1/250 sec and I kept the aperture at f/8 which gives a greater depth of field at the expense of light entering the lens.
That means more of the photo is in focus, even if my lens focuses on the wrong subject, but the higher ISO makes the photo noisier. It certainly paid off when I shot from the hip as I did in this photo. Oh, and you need balls too.Aperture ƒ/8 Camera Canon EOS 6D Focal length 35mm ISO 1250 Shutter speed 1/250s -

Caught in the Rain

Rain, sleet and snow fell in the space of five minutes a week ago during the Cork Streetphotography photowalk. These lads were caught in the middle of it on St. Patrick’s Street.

Sheep’s Head Cat

If you’ve been out to Sheep’s Head in Co Cork in the last year you may have come across this beautiful, friendly cat near the car park. I presume she lives in a nearby house. She had no problem with us stroking her and making friends with her but here she was warily watching some wandering cattle closely.
