Storm Clouds near Sandycove
As I walked to the Forty Foot a few days ago, I saw an ominous, dark cloud out at sea. Knowing that it would guarantee it wouldn’t rain, I got my umbrella from the car. It didn’t rain.
Doggy had their hair done
It’s lovely to see well cared for dogs. Shih tzus need so much grooming or their fur gets in their eyes, but this one had a nice bow, and happily walked along a street in Madrid.
Whistling on a bullet
A man blows over the top of a bullet casing at a military show in the old Cork Gaol in 2013. It’s an odd feeling to post this photo. I’ve had it in my “todo” album for more than a decade and apparently never posted it before. Once it’s published I won’t see it so…
The trees and the statue
Near the Forty Foot in Dún Laoghaire is a statue with religious carvings on it. For once, Google Maps wasn’t too helpful about what the statue was called. Hopefully, someone from the area will see this and let me know what it’s called. Edit: Thanks Oisin, the statue is called Stele.
A model of Plac Matejki
A tiny model of Plac Matejki sits at one end of this elegant street in Krakow. In the distance is St. Florian’s Church. Taking a photo of the model is difficult enough, and of course, I didn’t have a macro lens, but I was happy with how it came out. In the centre sits the…
Light Streaks at Whistler
Streaks of light followed a bus as it drove past me early one morning in Whistler, Canada.
A European Starling in Dún Laoghaire
A starling perched on a railing in the seaside town of Dún Laoghaire watches the goings-on in the nearby café. Pickings will be slim today as the establishment is being renovated and is not serving customers today!
The boats of Graiguenamanagh
I haven’t been to Graiguenamanagh in Kilkenny very often, which is unfortunate as it’s a pretty town, but here’s a photo of some of the boats tied up on the river there from quite some time ago.
Mom and Calf
A cow and her calf lying on the grass, enjoying the April sun in a field near Blarney Castle in 2022. So serene.
Mirror of the Sky
The sea became a mirror of the sky near Ballycotton last year when Blarney Photography Club visited.
Palestinian Flags on the Street
After the Pro Palestinian march walked past and down Oliver Plunkett Street in Cork. There is so much anger at what the Israeli army is doing in Gaza. How can anyone in their right mind support Netanyahu and his Government after all they’ve done? Hamas are terrorists, but Israel bombing cities and homes and hospitals…
Reflections of the sky
The sun had just set, and this lovely colour appeared in the sky for a few moments, almost exactly a year ago at Inniscarra.
