The Tritons’ Fountain in Valetta
The fabulous Tritons’ Fountain in Valetta, Malta. The fountain was built between 1952 and 1959. I’m glad I saw it after it was restored in 2018. It seems to have had an interesting life if the Wikipedia page is to be believed.

I remember being amused at the amount of vapour that comes from e-cigarettes in the past but now it just shows how much droplets and vapour spread out from a person’s mouth and nose when they breathe deeply.

The Taoiseach has let us down badly
Debenhams, a large retailer in the UK and Ireland closed last year with the loss of thousands of jobs. Workers in Ireland were promised 4 weeks pay per year of service rather than the statutory 2 weeks as that had been agreed between the company and their union, Mandate. The workers are seeking redundancy terms…
Liam Ruiséal teo
Liam Ruiséal’s shop is closed for some time now after trading in the same corner for more than 100 years. In 2018 you could still see books in there but they were advertising their final reductions. Here’s Health will be moving in there this year. The Golden Pages still has the number of the shop….

La Farola de Málaga
This imposing lighthouse sits at the mouth of Malaga harbour. It was built in 1817, damaged by earthquakes and the Spanish civil war and is operating automatically since 1993.
