Cock a doodle do!
A cock in Bunratty Folk Village struts around protecting his patch of ground from a nosy photographer. Don’t think I’ve ever heard the nursery rhyme of the same phrase. Cock a doodle do! My dame has lost her shoe, My master’s lost his fiddlestick, And knows not what to do.
Diverging Lines near Allihies
I love lines in images so I had to take this shot. It was taken at the same spot as this Allihies photo. What a beautiful day that was!
End of the Celtic Tiger
Construction. Ireland is too dependent on it but that’s old news now, but unspeakable just a year (or two) ago. Anyway, it’s the end of the boom, construction work has flatlined. The End is Nigh (and booted out the backdoor while we weren’t looking). Shot in Youghal a few months back.
Where you’ll find Fianna Fail

Hillside Chains
Rusted chains lie on the ground near the walkway to the Mizen Head Lighthouse. Just saw Star Trek. In my head it was the best thing since sliced bread but it was still a great film. Loved the little nods to the original series. Definitely worth going to see!

For sale: house with a sea view on beautiful, scenic cliffs in West Cork. Perfect starter home. No, not really. It’s only a tiny little hut above the cliffs at Mizen Head in County Cork.
Market Avenue
Market Avenue in the centre of Cork City is a tiny little street behind An Brog pub. You know, just outside the fish section of the English Market.
MINI Awards
An original MINI, with awards and plaques on it’s grill at Charles Fort near Kinsale last March.
David Rowell & Co
Do you know where Daly’s Bridge in Cork is? Sure you do. If you’ve lived in Cork you’ve probably walked across it even! After one such excursion I snapped this photo to remind me to look up the printed name above. Turns out David Rowell & Co were a company, “that fabricated wrought iron and…
Oscar on the Shaky Bridge
Oscar, our Shih Tzu, on the Shaky Bridge just outside Fitzgerald’s Park in Cork. I think he prefers solid ground!
Dunnes Stores in Ruins
The skeleton of the Dunnes Stores building on Patrick’s Street lies in ruins as building work continued to refurbish it. Taken in September 2007, Brian took a shot of the building a few days ago in much better state! Places are still available for the Cork City Photowalk on July 18th! Please leave comments on…
