Angela’s Shop in Fountainstown

Angela’s Shop and Coffee Dock in Fountainstown Co Cork. This shop has been at the beach in Fountainstown for the last 20 years (according to the owner) but I had never ventured inside until today. We were served lovely cups of tea which we enjoyed outside in the blazing sun. I had hoped to shoot the women’s mini marathon earlier in the day but we had a busy morning with the baby and weren’t ready to leave the house until 1pm. Sorry Ciara, would love to have seen you and the girls in wedding dresses! Aperture ƒ/14 Camera Canon EOS 40D Focal length 22mm ISO 400 Shutter speed 1/320s

I’ve ordered another 200 moo mini cards. 100 images duplicated. Should do me for several months I think!

The road beyond Fountainstown

The road beyond Fountainstown Have you ever gone beyond the beach at Fountainstown in Co. Cork? I’ve been visiting that beach all my life but I had never walked up the road until a week ago. I’m glad I did because it’s very nice up there, and coupled with a setting sun I went a little mad with the camera! Expect a few more shots from here over the week. I like these: New terminal at Cork Airport and great child portraits.

O’Connell and Quane

O’Connell and Quane Daniel O’Connell and Michael Quane on the beach at Fountainstown. They’d been out on the kayaks for several hours but were kind enough to chat to us and allow me to take their photo. Michael Quane is a celebrated artist who has exhibited internationally and has many public works to his name including the statue, “Horses and Riders” , on the roundabout in Mallow! You can find out more about his work by searching Google. Daniel O’Connell of course shares his name with a famous character from Irish history. I forgot to mention. the photo of the kayaks had to be rotated about 1.35 degrees right to… Read More
