Girl with the leprechauns in her hair

On Patrick’s Day all sorts of head gear and clothes are worn by people all over the world. This girl had a hair band with 2 leprechauns on springy stalks! See the shamrock on her cheek?

Make bubbles for the kids

Blowing bubbles on the street is a great way to keep children occupied! On St. Patrick’s Day this year a fairy lady blew bubbles for these kids who were having a ball catching them!

A child’s smile

A smile brightens up anyone’s day. When it’s a child smiling it’s extra special.
This was shot on St. Patrick’s Bridge, Cork just after the St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 17th. The crowds opened up for a few seconds and I briefly saw father and son.

St. Patrick’s Day Photographers

I’ve noticed more and more people with cameras at major public events. St. Patrick’s Day is no exception and I made this shot as we walked toward St. Patrick’s Street in Cork, unfortunately too late for the parade, but we had enjoyed a good meal so I wasn’t too bothered!

How many photographers can you see in this image? I count seven, maybe eight.

I can’t remember how I got this effect. Normally I’ll make a .xcf copy of the image but it’s not there this time. Ooops.

The curious dog

While wandering about on St. Patrick’s Day this year I spotted this adorable little dog. I got a few snaps and his owner didn’t seem to mind. The doggy was more than happy at the attention and sniffed eagerly at my lens!

On dad’s shoulders

A boy grins with delight after the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Cork this year. And why wouldn’t he? He’s sitting tall over everyone else!
Larry Tompkins bar is in the background. It was packed with the day’s crowd.

PS. The May issue of Digital Journalist has been out for a few days. I’m only now getting to look at it. Maybe. Adam is crying in the background. afk again!

Boy all alone

A little boy sits on the ground near some bikes while all around people talk and enjoy the day. This was taken at the Midleton Food and Drink Festival last year.

In the last 3 weeks I’ve worked on perhaps 3 photos, but luckily I had another 50 prepared to tide me over the weeks following the birth of Adam. Now where are those nappies…

This young lady was painting the faces of kids at the Midleton Food and Drink Festival when I took this photo. She was really enjoying herself as were the kids!
