I am the winner!

I am the winner!

More shots of members of Circo Copa who entertained the crowds at Fitzgerald’s Park on Sunday last. The man with the duster chased the female member of the group around, tickling her and was then declared the winner in some obscure but funny competition.

If Adam was a few years older I’d bring him to see them perform in the Spiegeltent.

Circo Copia Performance

Two members of Circo Copia performed for adults and kids alike at Fitzgerald’s Park yesterday during the Lord Mayor’s Picnic. Have you ever seen someone balance an umbrella on his forehead and play the mandolin at the same time? I have! This crazy bunch of performers had the crowd well entertained!

They’re playing in the Spiegeltent later in the month so if you didn’t catch them yesterday you have another chance. I spotted a Cork Circus van nearby so I’m pretty sure they’re part of that. Also, I think the face in the background belongs to the tall fella in these pictures of my wife and her “royal retinue”. I think the woman sticking her tongue out in the linked post was the 3rd member of Circo Copia yesterday. 🙂

Girl and the bear

A young girl greets a bear on Patrick’s Street, Cork.

Shopping is in full swing but it’s the small things like the smile of a child that bring light to the world.

I look good!

A street performer from Cork Circus, a street theatre company, poses for a photo on Patrick’s Street, Cork.

That reminds me, I must email him the URL of this blog as he was interested in photos!

Princess Jacinta

Royal Sedan Crew Portrait

Princess Jacinta was formally announced to the populace of Cork as she rode a sedan car up Saint Patrick’s Street in Cork. She was regal in stature, enjoying every moment of it, and alighted outside Boots Chemist on the thoroughfare where she was presented with a flower as a token of gratitude from a happy populace. She ended her reign shortly afterwards and is at home with me now. The experience hasn’t changed her at all.
“Your highness, is that ok?”

Members of Cork Circus took my wife Jacinta up the main street in Cork City. She recognised one of the group as the Midleton Princess I photographed last week and after speaking to her, they persuaded her to ride in their sedan car. She was embarrassed at first but what fun is life if you can’t do crazy things every now and again eh?
We were in town enjoying the festivities of the Ceili Mor and the Cork Folk Festival.

Midleton Princess

Adding a bit of humour ot the Midleton Food and Drink Festival, this princess was just on a break but kindly posed for the camera after I asked.

Sorry about the blown out detail on her hand – the sun was behind her so I had to fill in the shadows with flash. Unfortunately her hand was sunlit and the camera just couldn’t take it.

Mr Crow performs for St Patrick’s Festival 2005 in Cork

“On the count of three you pull!”

Mr Crow is crazy, there’s no question of that. First of all he introduced his ex-girlfriend’s head, which he swung around his own head while juggling 3 doll heads! He “helped” a girl from the audience juggle, and finally he climbed up onto an unstable platform and asked two men to pull supports from under him.
Then he juggled knifes. *gulp*
