A pair of Eircom phone booths on St. Patrick Street, Cork, pictured in 2005.

The phones were there until at least 2022, but Eir announced a few years ago that they’d be removing their public phone booths, so away they go.

    @donncha I'm reminded of the early 90s (maybe late late 80s) … searching phone boxes for Call Cards that I didn't have as people would just dump them after use 😀

    @donncha In the UK a lot of old telephone boxes were turned into mini-libraries, or defibrillator stations.
