Hussey’s Folly and the green fields

·

On a lovely evening in August 2020, we were visiting Dingle in Co. Kerry. A walk out to Hussey’s Folly is always on the cards, I think this evening was the last time we saw Fungie too. He was swimming in the bay, just off shore, surrounded by boats, as he always was.

He was a dolphin that hung around near Dingle for about 40 years, but he disappeared in late 2020. We luckily saw him that August but there’s no doubt now that he died of old age. Here’s my post about seeing him for the last time: https://inphotos.org/2020/10/26/the-disappearance-of-fungie/
