Fianna Fail in Cork
Posted on 06 March 2007
Fianna Fail, “The Republican Party”, had an office on the Grand Parade in Cork for years. Last time I looked the building was derelict. Anyone want to compare the state of their Cork office to their policies or chances in the next election?
Fianna Fail have been in power almost continuously for as long as I remember and before that of course. Will you vote for them?
This is next door to no 48 pictured yesterday.
I like this: May Day in California. Great street shots.

Surely you can’t have so easily forgotten the Rainbow Coalition!
That’s why I said “almost continuously” above, but the one thing I recall from the period was that Fianna Fail in opposition did a much better job than the other parties – they always seemed to get the airtime and attacked the government at every chance they got.
Its amazing that Fianna Fail got airplay because most of the musicians in the country can’t. Fianna Fail will have left a legacy of the Republican Party that sold off anything that was Irish. I will be glad to see them go. Our radio stations are being sold off like corner shops so are our news papers and their disregard for our cultural music and our musicians in the country is only disgraceful. Wall to wall foreign music now, but no Irish music but its ok as long as the politicians can get on the air. I own a music magazine in Cork called Backstage Traffic and have lots of figures about this. I was in the Oireachtas lately and wouldn’t be allowed to speak by Noel O Flynn and the Committe on Broadcasting. I was given 90 seconds. I will have a very interesting article in next weeks issue of my magazine. http://www.backstagetraffic.com.
