The architecture of buildings and landscapes fascinates me because of the lines and height and life that surrounds buildings and the countryside. Rolling hills of fields and hedgerows are so pleasing to the eye and a wonder of nature.

We had lunch in T.J. Newman’s in the town of last month. Lovely thick bread in the sandwiches I got. Kept us going for ages and tasty too! Adam loved looking at all the paintings upstairs!

Scart Road

Friday, April 4th, 2008 by Donncha

Scart , or Bothar na Scairte in , Co. .

When you leave the wide open area near the harbour in you come across really steep hills to the east. I happened to walk that way pushing a buggy so I had to stop and catch my breath here before heading on up.

is much bigger than I thought before and I should get some nice shots there the next time I’m down that way!

The Ouvane runs near in Co. and in the distance is Carriganass Castle.

The weather was terrible when I took this. Showers, cold, wind. How I suffer for my art!

No. 20, Bantry

Friday, March 28th, 2008 by Donncha

I walked around Town a bit snapping the local streets and this house appealed to me. I think I saw it in b/w and the lovely texture of the walls.

It could also have been the hill and I wanted a small break from pushing the buggy around too of course.

La le Phadraig ar Sraid Phadraig

Friday, March 21st, 2008 by Donncha

look out of an upstairs window in Merchants Quay shopping centre. When I took this shot I didn’t even see them!
I was concentrating on the in the foreground with their . I think they frame the sign rather nicely and ties in with the name of the day too.

Check out some great of Inchigeela from the 1960’s on textlad’s set. Thanks Katie, they’re wonderful!

This reminds me of someone at Mallow Camera Club who showed a number of slides he had bought or got off a priest who had served on a mission in South America. The images were from decades ago and the priest was dead and buried by now. Pictures were still as good as ever, but they’re languishing in a slide box now. I’d love to see them uploaded to Flickr and made public.

Old farm building in ruins

Thursday, March 6th, 2008 by Donncha

Out in the wilds of Co , to the north of I found an old deserted farm. The house looked like it had been empty for some time and some of the out buildings were in worse repair.

Don’t forget the photowalk on Sunday!
