On dad’s shoulders

On dad’s shoulders A boy grins with delight after the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Cork this year. And why wouldn’t he? He’s sitting tall over everyone else! Larry Tompkins bar is in the background. It was packed with the day’s crowd. PS. The May issue of Digital Journalist has been out for a few days. I’m only now getting to look at it. Maybe. Adam is crying in the background. afk again!

Antennas in the sky like sentinels

Antennas in the sky like sentinels Antennas reach to the sky above San Francisco. I’m not sure of the name of this hill, or how to get there again! Niall showed myself and Mark around up there before heading down by the Bay Bridge, grabbing a bite to eat in a local restaurant and finally ending up at the post-WordCamp bash with the rest of Automattic and everyone else!

Scared Child

Scared Child A girl looked up at me from her buggy as I took her photo with the wide angle lens of my camera. This was taken just after the St. Patrick’s Day Parade this year and the place was black with people, especially outside the The Larry Tompkins pub so no wonder she was a little upset. Department stores, Fifth Avenue and Tiffany & Co can be clearly seen in the background, it’s the center of the shopping world in San Francisco!

Blue skies contrail and clouds

Blue skies contrail and clouds A wall of the Beamish and Crawford Brewery blocks the sun in this shot taken on South Main Street, Cork. Blue skies are great for sun worshippers but photographers don’t like them. It’s always better to have some cloud or interest in the sky. The fluffier and more solid the better, as long as some blue sky can be seen.

Father and son in the square

Father and son in the square A father and his offspring walk about after the parade on St. Patrick’s Day in Cork this year. Normally this is a busy junction but it was closed off for a few hours to make way for the festivities. Patrick’s Street can be seen in the background with the statue of Fr. Mathew rising into the air.
