Wow yeah 75k shots is A LOT for someone who is not a professional. The pictures look great and I am having problems with my Cannon as well but a different model.

75K shots for someone who isnt a pro is a hell of alot of pictures!! For the price canon will quote you for the repair, you’d probably be better off buying a new camera!

I never realised you had the 20D for so long, time is flying! I guess 70 photos a day isnt so bad really. Its extreme, but not so bad

GG - check out my about page, the number of photos I took over the last few years is there. You can see a sharp decline in the number of shots last year, and this year will be way down too.

Life with a baby .. There are some days when I take my camera out with me and never shoot anything.

I do have all those photos, and they’re in dated folders, most with descriptions in the folder name. I do have a camcorder but I never use it. Editing movie footage takes too much time and I just don’t have the same feeling for it as I do for still photography.

75,000!? Slow down man! Canon only rated shutter’s to last for less than 50,000 actuations. And do you actually have all 75k photographs still? It’s all too easy to fire off shots willy-nilly with digital isnt it. My advise, buy a camcorder

That said, I better check my Eos now too, just to be on the safe side. The shutter might have seized up, from lack of use
