My wife and I had the chance to visit the Limerick / Adare / Ennis area in September. Ireland is one beautiful place!

One of the things that caught my attention is that Limerick, despite being somewhat large, did not have idle people standing about, trash on the streets, or open displays of lewdness such as we see in our home city of Detroit, MI. We were both pleased and impressed ... and have made plans to return in two years to visit the Cork area (my homeland).

I very much appreciate all of these photos ... especially this one of the sea and the shadows pic. I was born in West Virginia, USA and am quite familiar with the lacy beauty of shadows over rolling mountains. The state flower of WV is the rhododendron ... and some of the hills just turn pink and purple in the spring. Breath-taking!

Of the over 800 photos my wife and I took on our vacation, I will be posting roughly a half-dozen on my blog soon. (Actually, they were already posted once, but either the blog committed suicide or a plugin killed it. I am going VERY slowly now so as to know what the offending software is and to banish it to outer darkness.)

Great energy in this, a lovely shot. It's a scary beach all right, I've stood there in December and thought my life was close to ending. The full power of the atlantic!

I love the colors in the water- the steely grey-blue on the outside, to the aqua on the inside, to the sandy shorebreak. How's the surfing around this area?
