The Old Town of Quebec

Quebec city recently celebrated it’s 400th birthday, making it one of the oldest cities in North America! Here’s part of the tourist area of the older part of town. A lovely walk through a beautiful area.

Quebec is lovely. I was there back in 2001 for their winter carnival and after having been in Canada for a few months it was such a surreal sensation arriving in the old city. It suddenly felt as though I had stepped outside of North America and was back in Europe.

Narrow streets, architecture reminiscent of Europe and people speaking French!

It really is a beautiful city. Did you get down by Chateau Frontenac at all? Lovely walkway down there. Probably a bit nicer when you visited though, my camera was having a hard time of it in -40 degrees. So many fantastic little streets and alleyways, wish I was back there.
