Mr Whirly

Shly? Ever since I took this photo it’s always bugged me what that means. Ice cream van on a very warm day in Kinsale, Co Cork.

Not the first time I shot this particular ice cream van either!

The Lord Mayor’s car, a top of the range Ford. Despite the fact that Ford have a much reduced presence in Cork these days the Lord Mayor continues to make use of a Ford automobile. Always the first car registered in the year too.

Old Style Car

Old Style Car

These old style cars were all the rage for about 5 minutes a few years ago weren’t they?

Pictured in Kinsale, Co Cork on a hot Summer’s day.

PS. my brother Donal got married today. Brilliant day had by all and wedding was really nice!

Mini & the pussy

mini pussy

An (ancient?) Mini, one of the older British design, not the new fangled BMW ones that are as big as a Yaris, and of course a pussy cat watching me carefully.

This was shot near Shandon Bells after we braved the heights of the tower to shoot the City of Cork. Now take your minds out of the gutter. :)

I really must upload some of that day’s shoots to Pixie!

Eccles Hotel

eccles hotel

Eccles Hotel on the outskirts of Glengarriff in Co Cork is an imposing hotel from the outside. I never went in so I don’t know what it’s like inside. My wife Jacinta checked out the menu while I stayed in the car with the baby and got the camera out of course!

It’s a beautiful building, in nice surroundings. Water laps against the road behind me as far as I remember and it’s very peaceful (in the off season, I’m sure the carpark is full in the summer!)

PS. Just wanted to point out Fake Chuck Westfall. A blog satirising a senior Canon exec. Canon didn’t like it and tried to have it taken down. Thankfully they didn’t succeed. My boss Toni Schneider responded to Canon’s request and you can see the response above.
In fact Fake Chuck got a HUGE traffic boost from all the attention. Should have just ignored it!

Church Steps in Castletownbere

Steps to a church in Castletownbere, Co Cork.

I tried finding out more about this church but any attempt to find info on it returns this church I blogged a while back. Anyone know it’s name?
