A model smiles for the camera at Mallow Camera Club’s studio portrait night. This was back in 2006 and I had promised the girls involved that night I’d send on their photos. Unfortunately it took longer than I thought to work on them. Here’s a photo of the other model I shot that night.
9 October 2007 - 16 images sold in MallowI heard last night at the club that 16 images were sold at the Mallow Camera Club exhibition in Mallow Town Library. That will add something like €2,000 to the Niall Mellon Township Trust fund Sean O Riordan is collecting! Well done to everyone, and thanks to everybody who linked and spread the word!

The photography exhibit last night was a great success. I don’t think there were any sales, but it was nice to see everyone again, and the number of babies prompted a few people to comment that the club should get a creche in ..

2 September 2007 - Gallery and exhibit updatesI met Haydn today at Garettstown Beach where he showed me some of the prints that will be going on display in the gallery within a few weeks. Since I last mentioned this, he has moved into Kinsale and has a store right on the quay in a prime location! I’m looking forward to the opening, and taking a proper look around.
The prints were gorgeous. One was from Ryan, and the other three were mine. They’re printed on a lovely thick paper by HP printers, with a guaranteed lifetime of 150 years. It’s mind-blowing for me to think that some of my prints may well be hanging on walls long after I’m gone! More on the printers, and the gallery later.
Mallow Camera Club will be exhibiting in Mallow Town Library from this week for a short period. Prints are for sale, and all proceeds go to the “Niall Mellon Township Trust” who build houses in South Africa. One of the members is heading out there with the trust. My shot of Brendan O’Carroll will be on display there, and for sale of course.
