This camera belongs to Alkos, who I met on Monday night and it’s what he shoots everything on his photoblog with. He and his girlfriend had gone to the bar and I decided I liked the draughts board pattern on the table and composed this still life.
Volunteers from the Animal Care Society were out in force on Saturday collecting to raise funds.
We bumped into Beamish and his owner and I forgot to ask her name, but hopefully she’ll see this picture as I gave her one of my cards. Beamish was lovely and very placid, perfect tempermant for dealing with the crowds on a busy Saturday in town.
Pictured outside Tesco shopping center in Douglas, Cork last year. These springer spaniels waited patiently for their owner to come out of the shops.
No. 48 on Grand Parade Cork is an old disused building near the Goat Broke Loose. It’s also next door to the old location of Fianna Fail’s Cork office.
A small house is stuck between two larger buildings in Dingle, Co. Kerry. I’m not sure what caught my eye in the first place but I think it was the red door.
Shot on a wet morning that brightened up after an hour of intense rain.
A solitary daisy grows in front of a small house in Fountainstown.
This was an interesting photo for me to take. I spotted the daisy while walking out the road but I didn’t stop to shoot it until returning. I’m glad I remembered it! I’m really happy with the way this came out.
The sun sets over a small inlet in Fountainstown. The tide is out and boats are stranded in the mud.
One thing that bothers me about this photo is the large black bit on the left. I think I overdid the lomo a little although I’m quite happy with the burned in clouds. What do you think?
I’ve ordered another 200 moo mini cards. 100 images duplicated. Should do me for several months I think!
Here’s yet another photo processing effect that may be destined to become yet another over used style on Flickr: The Sin City Style draws inspiration from the artwork of Frank Miller’s Sin City.
The example image is as gritty and powerful as Miller’s work and hopefully someone won’t write a Photoshop plugin or action to automate it. At least not for a week or so anyway.
