Cherry blossom trees never fail to make my wife Jacinta gasp as they’re so beautiful. This one is in the grounds of Blarney Castle and I don’t think she knows (or she’s forgotten) it’s there!

Many years ago I posted another photo of cherry blossom on the day of our wedding. It’s not quite that day yet but I wanted to share this photo today as it’s so nice outside this morning.

A flower or weed? A weed is only a flower in the wrong place, or so I’ve heard. This was taken at Seaside in Florida during the Automattic meetup there in 2010. Beautiful beach there, horrible humidity in September!

In the new year I’m sorely tempted to change the posting frequency on this blog from daily to every third day. Blogging should bring pleasure and be a means of expressing oneself while stimulating your audience and improving oneself. Fuchsia flowers in my dad’s back garden.

I’ve tried to photograph fuchsia plants many times but the flowers are so delicate that any sort of breeze will set them shaking. I took this photo with the Canon 50mm resulting in a very fast shot and thankfully the lack of wind helped too!

The North Mall next to the River Lee in Cork is decorated with beautiful flowers dotted along it’s length. I had to take a few shots of them as I walked back to my car after the Paddy’s Day Parade this year.

Note the Franciscan Well in the background. Nice pub!
