Two show off their moves in Fitzgerald’s accompanied by played on the berimbau and atabaque. The is very exciting to watch as participants leap from the ground, and seem to defy gravity on occasion!

Party in the park

Monday, July 9th, 2007 by Donncha

The Club on Douglas Street held a day out for the kids just over a week ago in Fitzgerald’s in . Unfortunately we arrived just as everything was wrapping up but I got a couple of shots off.

There was a great party atmosphere. Parents were there with kids, sitting around, chatting, and dancing, and even a couple of dogs including Oscar! Next time we’ll try to make it earlier. Thanks Sharon for telling me it was on! See Mel in the background?

Unfortunately the light wasn’t the best and with fast moving legs, arms and bodies I was never going to fully freeze the action. More to come over the next few days.

in Fitzgerald’s , blaze with colour on a lovely Sunday afternoon. They’ve done a great job in the where very nice layouts of can be seen over by the museum. Presumably with the intention of avoiding the kids congregated at the other end of the at the swings and slides!

A few days ago I blogged about Spencer Tunick and wondered aloud how he organised such large groups of naked . Well, if you have + then check out “ Anytime” where they have Naked States, a documentary following him around from New York where he was arrested to Boston and elsewhere. I’ve only watched the first 20 minutes but it’s turned out to be an interesting look into Tunick’s life.

An Autumn Leaf

I love the colours of at this time of year. The browns and yellows of falling vegetation make for a soft rich carpet of that is pleasing to the eye. Unless of course it’s your job to clean them up, or after it rains!

This photo came third in the Mallow Camera Club Patterns Around Us competition, novice digital section. I took notes about the other winners but I don’t know how accurate they are. Congrats to David Lavery for all his winning images!
