Boys in the park

Boys in Fitzgerald’s Park sort of enjoying the Lord Mayor’s Picnic a few weeks ago. I saw “sort of” because of their tense expressions. Must have been the crowds! Photo Info Aperture ƒ/6.3 Camera Canon EOS 20D Focal length 162mm ISO 200 Shutter speed 1/320s

Rainbow Umbrella

A child opens a rainbow coloured umbrella outside Cork City Library last Saturday. Rain threatened most of the day so it was a good idea to have an umbrella with you, just in case. Phil is blogging the photos he took, and posted about his trip to Cork too. Photo Info Aperture ƒ/3.5 Camera Canon [...]

Musical Sunglasses

A brass band played in front of Cork City Library today and I made this shot while waiting with Phil and his brother Christopher for Damien to appear. We didn’t make it to Robodock in the end. I was busy and exhausted with a sick baby all morning and I think I’m lucky I managed [...]

Relaxing by the pond

Lots of people relaxing by the pond in Fitzgerald’s Park during the Lord Mayor’s Picnic a few weeks back. We were busily walking past with a slightly tired baby. Don’t do much relaxing these days.. Photo Info Aperture ƒ/6.3 Camera Canon EOS 20D Focal length 88mm ISO 200 Shutter speed 1/200s

The Lord Mayor’s Picnic, Cork 2008

Fitzgerald’s Park was packed yesterday for The Lord Mayor’s Picnic. I hope the following photos give you a flavour of the mayhem! I don’t think I’ve ever seen as many people in the Park! Photo Info Aperture ƒ/11 Camera Canon EOS 20D Focal length 59mm ISO 100 Shutter speed 1/320s

Lord Mayor of Cork, Donal Counihan

The Lord Mayor’s Picnic in Fitzgerald’s Park, Cork was a roaring success today to judge by the number of parents and kids who congregated in the area. All the stalls did a healthy trade with lines 20 long for many hours. Here’s The Lord Mayor of Cork, Donal Counihan, as he walked about. The smoke [...]

La Scala

La Scala in Crosshaven is an arcade that’s been in the town for years. It probably hasn’t been called that name all that time, or owned by the same people all that time but I always remember there being an arcade there. Not sure if I’ve ever been in there though. Maybe a long time [...]

Fancy ass public transport

OK, so it’s not quite a bus, but it’s a stretch limo. I saw it again today cruising up and down Patrick’s Street with the rear window open a crack. I’d hate to see that try to navigate a tight bend! Photo Info Aperture ƒ/5 Camera Canon EOS 20D Focal length 12mm ISO 400 Shutter [...]

Big smile for the Parade!

Big smile for the Parade! I think it’s safe to say this was the biggest smile of St. Patrick’s Day Parade 2008 for me. Nobody in the crowd was smiling anyway. They were all too squashed in or straining to see over the heads of those in front.
