2 March 2009 - Lonely Boat in Fountainstown
A boat sits alone on the hard ground while it’s brethren bob up and down in the tide around Fountainstown in Co Cork.
This presented me with a bit of a dilemma. I originally cropped the sky out because it was washed out but after careful work with the RAW image I restored detail to that area of the photo. Now I’m torn between this and the cropped version but I think this one wins out. The clouds have a sense of motion that contrasts with the rest of the image in a way I find very pleasing.
I’m thinking about this too much.
17 November 2008 - Lone plane over Windsor
If you live anywhere north of London it seems you’re in the flight path of one airport or another. Windsor, despite having a great big castle, is no exception and a number of flights flew over in the few hours we spent in the town.
26 June 2007 - Boy all alone on the streetIt’s strange how you can be stuck in your own little world and not be aware of anything around you.
All around this boy were couples, either hand in hand, walking together or even framing him in the middle of the image, but I’m struck by his solitary movement through the street. He look lost in thought.

- Treasa has discovered wideangle. I can’t wait to see what results she gets with it. I remember shooting skateboarders in Cork while the almost flew over my head. At least there I could dodge out of the way, especially for one little a**hole who tried to land on me each and every time..

A solitary daisy grows in front of a small house in Fountainstown.
This was an interesting photo for me to take. I spotted the daisy while walking out the road but I didn’t stop to shoot it until returning. I’m glad I remembered it! I’m really happy with the way this came out.
