Yellow Pipes

yellow pipes

When you’re stuck for time state the obvious. Yellow piping found on a back road beyond Crosshaven in Co Cork 9 days ago. That pink bike at the end of the frame was a nice bonus. Hadn’t noticed that when I took the photo!

Pancakes have been cooked, flipped and eaten by all and we’re heading out to see that Barcelona film that I can’t remember the name of in the Kino in Cork. Babysitter is here, Adam is tucked up in bed, time to run out the door.

Shandon Bells

shandon bells

The clock tower of St. Anne’s Church in Shandon is more well known as “Shandon Bells” after the bells that ring out there through out the day.

We were so lucky with the weather on Saturday on our little photowalk. Wasn’t it Aidan‘s idea to head up to Shandon? Inspired! Everyone had a great time. Next photowalk we’re heading up there again!

North Cathedral, Cork

North Cathedral, Cork

The Cathedral of St. Mary & St. Anne, or the North Cathedral as it’s known in Cork sits right in the middle of this photo. It’s the city’s Catholic cathedral. A large portion of the north side of Cork City surrounds it. Blackpool is immediately behind it, and you can see the Heineken Brewery on the right where Murphy’s Stout and soon Beamish will be brewed.

This shot was taken yesterday from the tower of St. Anne’s Church, or “Shandon Bells”. You can see the huge shadow it casts on the green park and nearby houses! I will post photos from the Irish Blog Awards tomorrow. I’ve hardly had time to sit down today.

Bird’s Eye View

bird's eye view

Bird’s eye view from the top of Shandon Bells on the north side of Cork City. If you look carefully you’ll see a few photobloggers sitting on the steps of the church. Scary taking this photo. I held the camera over empty space while holding the strap! See you all later at the Irish Blog Awards!

PS. Congrats to Ryan for winning Best Photoblog tonight at the Irish Blog Awards. Well deserved! (Thanks Pix.ie for sponsoring that section!)
