Ruby, a Springer Spaniel we met last year in Bunnyconnellan, is still down in Myrtleville! Her owner must be living down there somewhere. We threw a stick for her a few times and then walked over to Fennell’s Bay and she followed us with her tail wagging!
It was a pleasure walking with her only spoilt by the idiot teenage girl who threw stones at us from high ground. She and her group of friends didn’t hang around when they saw us returning back towards them. Very brave.

  1. First I have to say, what a great photo! The onlooking pup in the background really adds.

Secondly, girls throwing rocks? Unbelievable! What a shame.

  2. Thanks Micki. Yeah, a girl throwing rocks. It sucked. It almost ruined the evening except Ruby was so loveable and exciteable she would brighten any moment!
I was tempted to take a photo of the girl and her friends but I’m glad I didn’t because one of her group returned with a half dozen guys while we walked back.

  3. Good shot!. The second dog in the left frame makes this image more interesting.

  4. so cute!
the composition and the DOF is perfect.

  5. Roving, stone-throwing gangs ? Cork is a lively spot!

  6. Throwing stones? That’s pathetic, I dont understand how these people get kicks from it. Idiots.

Wonderful composition in this Donncha, love the dog in the background, it’s as if he saying “quit being boring & come play”. Superb shot.

  7. Very nice. Good composition and I can almost smell wet dog!
    A well caught moment.

  8. Cute dog alright, I’d say her owners were happy to get her home and stink the house out! Rose-tinted glasses Donn! Having said that, I’d love to have a Springer Spaniel again.

  9. What a fabulous photo of Ruby and her pal, my straying springer spaniel. Your right I do live in Myrtleville and Ruby wants to live in the sea! She is a fantastic dog although I wish I knew how to tire her out - she will retrieve a ball for hours - I go for runs and walks for hours and she still looks at me as if she has never been outside. Just one thing Donncha, how did you know her name was Ruby? She just has her telephone number on the tag! Maybe she wrote it in the sand!
