I had been learning to drive for about a year and felt confident until I met the tester. He was really horribe, rude and grumpy and really put me off. I was convinced I failed and when we got back to the centre I sat in the car waiting for the bad news. He then said I passed but was so rude I didn't actually believe until I had the cert in my hands. What a relief!!!! I wouldn't like to have to go through that experience again. I did mine in the 80s. I remember getting a puncture on my test - he made me drive back to the centre in the car with the puncture - still, I passed. When I did my motorbike test the tester followed my around in a car!!
