Just outside Boots he stopped in front of me, what could I do but make
this image?
He was waiting for his parents to catch up but I liked the contrast
between him and the busy world around him. He rejoined that world
moments later.
A moment in time.

something about it does make him seem completely seperated from the flow around him, almost as if he's standing in front of a screen.

The red top does help but the background is very distracting.
It maybe that you used autofocus and therefore he isn't isolated from what is across the street.

Really like the text and the idea. The capture of the men behind is great. Somewhat mixed composition confuses the message and impression.
