This couple posed for me as they walked along the Waterloo Road. I’d venture to say he probably ran the half marathon in less than 90 minutes.
We chatted for a few minutes near the finish line while runners streamed past. He finished in 1hr 26mins. Next time I’m bringing a notepad and a pen to get names!
Two lads well on the way to recovery after the half marathon in Blarney. Under the scorching sun I don’t know how they managed to run it in 1hr 35mins!
The annual Blarney Half Marathon was held yesterday under a blistering sun. Ireland enjoyed a week of superb weather and yesterday could have been the hottest. The race started at 11am and runners followed a course around Blarney, finishing on Waterloo Road sometime after noon. I have nothing but admiration for those guys. All I wanted to do was sit in the shade an enjoy a cool drink! More photos to come tomorrow.
Hi, Great pics. Can you tell me how I register for the Blarney half marathon for 2008?

Entry to the race on the day is possible, entries are usually taken at Blarney GAA club. Further details will be on the St. Finbarrs AC website (http://www.stfinbarrsac.com) closer to the event.
