OK, so it’s not quite a bus, but it’s a stretch limo. I saw it again today cruising up and down Patrick’s Street with the rear window open a crack. I’d hate to see that try to navigate a tight bend!

Two seagulls wander into the water on the slip that serves the Bere Ferry in Schull Harbour.

Jacinta was the first to notice that actually, the Bere Ferry does not go from Schull. It lands at Castletownbere! Oops!

A farmer ploughing his field caught my attention while out driving with Adam (trying to get him to sleep, it worked!)
The farmer saw me and asked the usual “why are you photographing me?” question but was friendly enough. Plenty of work to be done anyway as he was only halfway through the field!

When I saw the scene I pictured the contrasting bright and dark halves of the ground, but the day was so bright it was difficult to shoot the shadow close by me. I had to clone out a really annoying power line going right across the top half of the image too!

Glider EI-128 sitting on the sand at Inch Strand, Co. Kerry in 2006. I’ve posted a few photos of this glider in the past and I can safely say this is the last one unless I happen to see it again!

I can hardly see myself

As I said previously, thick fog was rolling across the Conor Pass. It was frightening how fast it moved and the light and scene changed utterly.

Here’s it’s obscuring the road down the Pass, making the too-narrow road even more treacherous. I think by the time we left, even this stretch of road and the car park was covered in a thick white fog.

Face in the machine

A cement mixer on Patrick Street coming out of Drawbridge Street stopped and I spotted the two faces in the poster.

Honda 70

At first glance I thought this was a Honda 50 but closer inspection of the sticker reveals a “70″. There is more text that could be COB but if the Wikipedia page on the bike is right, it was probaby “CD” on it before it was ripped.

Snow on the runway

On the way back from Arizona I flew via Chicago’s O’Hare Airport. I had a long wait but I have a laptop, a spare battery, DVD and Mame to keep me amused.

I took a few photos too but I discovered shortly after taking this that photography in most parts of the airport is banned!

From what I remember, it’s ok to take snapshots of family or friends beyond the security checkpoints, and possibly only with a compact camera. I can only imagine the fuss if I had been discovered taking photos of the runway and service areas with my big chunky Canon 20D!

I know for a fact that photography in Heathrow is banned. It’s a good thing too. The flash might set off the dangerous liquids left by disgruntled and thirsty travellers before they go through security.

Have you noticed this is a wide angle shot? I didn’t get my Sigma 10-20 back yet and no news from the camera store. I took this with a Canon 10-22 USM stuck to my camera. Matt very kindly gave me his lens because he’s buying Nikon kit. Thanks Matt!
