13 November 2008 - Autumn Leaves
Hues of gold and brown greet the eye in Burham Beeches. Yes I know it’s technically winter but autumn is always associated with falling leaves, while winter is cold and snow falls instead, so please humour me!
I do have a couple of other shots of yesterday’s Burnham Beeches photo but I’ll leave those until later in the year.
12 November 2008 - The beauty of Burnham Beeches
We visited Burnham Beeches last Friday afternoon, on a day when torrential rain was forecast but thankfully the weather forecast was completely wrong. This large forest close to the city of London is an amazing sight to behold with ancient trees, and at this time of year beautiful, vivid (eh Matt?) and colourful leaves that create a breathtaking canopy.
When I saw the scene you see above my jaw dropped in astonishment and I had to take a few photos of it. This is definitely a photo I’ll be printing and hanging on my wall. I hope you like it too!
Wikipedia says that:
Burnham Beeches is an area of 540 acres (220 hectares) of ancient woodland, located close to Farnham Common, Burnham and Beaconsfield, in Buckinghamshire. It is approximately 20 miles (30 km) to the west of London, England.11 November 2008 - Windsor Leaves

Down by the river in Windsor the ground was littered with autumn leaves and served as a perfect foreground for someone else’s castle..
That was a great idea of Matt’s to head down that direction!
10 November 2008 - Stuck on you
A wet bench in Maidenhead is no place for you or I but an Autumn leaf has made it home.
09 November 2008 - Terminal 1 at Heathrow
Terminal 1 at Heathrow, just before we parked. Thanks Matt and Mary for a great few days!
Matt bought himself a shiny new Sony A200 on Saturday. It has built in image stabilisation that really helped when I took some shots inside a pub in Eton. If you’re on the look out for a very reasonably priced entry level DSLR I can recommend the Sony A200.
08 November 2008 - The Big Issue
A Big Issue seller sits on a plastic chair outside a shopping centre in Maidenhead, in the UK.
07 November 2008 - Tourists outside Windsor Castle
Tourists gathered outside the gates of Windsor Castle photograph each other smiling and posing for holiday photos. We parked outside the town, grabbed a bus up the road and walked around a bit. Unfortunately the castle itself was closed.
The town of Windsor is definitely worth a visit. It’s a huge tourist attraction though so better to visit during the week when the place is thronged with visitors.
06 November 2008 - Do not trespass on the railway
Do not trespass on the railway, Penalty £1000, or if there’s a train coming you’re going to get squashed! Thanks Matty for the Pound sign help!
Shot at Paddington Station, London this afternoon.
29 January 2008 - London EyeThe London Eye (or Millenium Wheel as it is also called) is clearly visible in this shot of London City Center taken last weekend as my plane banked on approach to Heathrow Airport.
We arrived around 7am when it was still dark. Thankfully I had my camera in a small bag at hand because I had missed some great shots of Tuscon, Arizona because my camera had been tucked away in the overhead bins.
Sorry for the large file size. It’s a noisy image, and Jpeg compression isn’t that great with random noise.
