Flowers poke through the peeling paint of an ornate garden fence or border. I can’t decide for myself what I should call that. The name of those flowers is on the tip of my tongue too but eludes me. Blame the tiredness.

The pedestrian crossing outside Eason (I always say “Eason’s”, but it really is “Eason”. Just like Porter’s is “Porter”. These newsagents are a picky bunch!) where young and old traverse the street in relative safety.

It’s hard to believe that Ireland can be warm and roasting given the cold winds that blow around this time of year but back in June last year we had a heat wave. I can’t stand the heat of the sun, and by the looks of things, this gentleman isn’t too fond of it either.
