Bill Posters & Poster Printers

On the way up to Sunday’s Well you’ll find this fairly permanent sign moulded from cement in the wall of a house. I’m sure the business that put it up is long gone but it’s fascinating that it’s still there.

Des took a photo of it too!

It would be a good idea for these artefacts of Cork’s commercial history to be photgraphed and logged.

A book was recently published on “Cork’s Street Furniture” which should also prove to be a useful historical reference.

The permanence of it (in concrete) recalls an optimism that the business would be there for many years. I think of the poem Ozymandias by Shelley.

Love the old signage built into the facade. Quite literally, they don’t make em like they used to!
