Some giant wants to take over a small company, our competition watchdogs express some concern but still the deal is approved. I wonder what the was in it for the regulators... In the past the main question was: is a company profitable? These days the only question is: how can the dividends to shareholders be increased. Think about it. Heineken claim to increase competition by decreasing the number of Guinness competitors. I would have failed my exams with that type of answer but these people run a multimillion multinational... An article I read researching this post (what? I actually research posts?) said Heineken own Murphy's, wanted to buy Beamish, but were waiting on some competition board to rule if it was ok for the sale to go through.
