If I hadn't witnessed Allihies in sunshine in previous years I would have drove through it not realising how beautiful it is - amazing what a little sunshine can do and wonderful to be back even if the weather was bad. The photo of the bridge in Cobh from a few days back does flatter the area but I think the beauty of Allihies has to be seen to be believed. The maquis in Corsica is the closest I've seen. Was down there with the kids last Tuesday, drinking pints and pushing the kids on the swings. You’re right about that.
